Exodus 13: 11-12
11And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee, 12That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the LORD’s.
I see a theme throughout my study of God. He puts significant value on “first things.” As the children of Israel exited Egypt, God reminded them of the importance of all who open the matrix; or the womb. That portion belongs to Him. I believe this is because when He has the first portion, it represents the whole.
In all that He created, there is a womb that incubates the seed. And to him who is wise, whether it be his children, his crops, his business, livestock or his money, that man will dedicate the first portion to God. In it lies a heavenly blessing that cannot be measured by earthly means.
